Emidat, the Munich-based platform for climate-native product management, is hosting the Climate-Native Summit 2026 at the Memox Skyline Tower in Munich.
The summit brings together building materials manufacturers, LCA experts, verifiers, and regulatory specialists to tackle one of the industry’s most pressing challenges: turning life cycle assessments (LCAs) and environmental product declarations (EPDs) from a mandatory requirement into a genuine competitive advantage.
From Mandate to Strategy
With the revised Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and Digital Product Passports (DPPs), which will fundamentally change the way products are marketed in the EU, manufacturers can no longer treat LCAs and EPDs as a one-time formality. The Climate-Native Summit 2026 aims to provide manufacturers with a clear picture of what is changing, what this means for their business, and what needs to be done now, even before all regulatory requirements come into effect.
The summit is structured around four key themes: the strategic use of environmental data as a competitive advantage, scaling up LCA production without compromising quality, eco-design and the next generation of products, and the practical implications of BPV and DPP for manufacturers in the EU market.
Program Highlights
Session 1 – Environmental Data as Business Value The event kicks off with a keynote presentation on how leading manufacturers use LCA and EPD data to win tenders, tap into international markets, and differentiate themselves through transparency. Three practical case studies will then demonstrate the specific business outcomes this has enabled.
Session 2 – Scaling LCA Production A panel discussion will address one of the most controversial questions in the field: Does LCA automation come at the expense of data quality? A manufacturer, a verifier, and an LCA expert will present their positions and are expressly invited to disagree. Following this, a roundtable on scaling LCA processes and a workshop on data collection will take place in parallel for anyone wishing to delve deeper into the subject matter.
Session 3 – Next-Generation Products Manufacturers from various sectors will present next-generation products and demonstrate how LCA data shapes product development and how environmental performance and innovation can go hand in hand. The block concludes with a keynote on eco-design: The LCA result is not an endpoint, but a starting point for identifying hotspots, shaping supply chain strategy, and enabling continuous product development.
Session – Regulation and Digital Product Passports The afternoon opens with a keynote presentation on the specific requirements that the BPV and Digital Product Passports will impose on manufacturers starting in 2026: timelines, affected product categories, and the consequences for companies that are not prepared in time. A panel discussion with DPP and ESPR experts will then focus on practical implementation: Where are the biggest challenges, what are early adopters learning, and what should manufacturers start doing today?
