Factors for Successful Transformation
Transformation is currently one of the most talked-about topics in our segment of industry. In this context, the term transformation no longer refers merely to new technologies or processes. Actual change takes place when people and companies are willing to take responsibility and actively engage in shaping new approaches. Successful transformation can be controlled from the outside to only a limited extent – it above all requires initiative, courage and the will to address changes in actual fact.
This became particularly clear to me a few days ago at the Climate Native Summit in Munich. It became apparent there that some companies no longer view sustainability only as a regulatory function. Topics such as life cycle assessments (LCA) and environmental product declarations were not discussed as additional burdens, but as tools for innovation and future viability. I was particularly pleased to have the opportunity to moderate the session “LCA in Action: Three Next-Gen Products.” At this session, manufacturers demonstrated how LCA data specifically influence product developments. What was particularly impressive was the attitude of many participants: whereas political developments regarding sustainability are currently having more of a restraining effect in many cases, those involved here do not sit back and wait, but are taking responsibility into their own hands and are tackling changes with determination. This is precisely what transformation today means to me.
The Media Leadership Masterclass 2026 – in which I am currently focusing intensively on change processes and on the further development of BFT International – also emphasizes the importance of openness and willingness to learn, in the process of honest dialog for successful transformation. You’ll soon find out what changes BFT International itself is currently initiating. Enjoy reading this issue.
