Technical symposium on urban and landscape planning

The company braun-steine GmbH invites architects and engineers from the field of urban and open-space planning and communal decision-makers to Ulm in Germany to the 15th SteinForum. Preservation of resources, ecological reorientation, and commitment to improve the quality of open spaces call for new solutions and for taking a new look at the construction materials used in this sector. This technical symposium accepts the challenge expressed in the forum theme “Reorientation of Urban and Landscape Planning” in a whole day of lectures on 19 April 2018 at the Edwin-Scharff-Haus. An exhibition of product innovations supplements the meeting of experts.

Inclusion of sustainability in decision-making for construction projects and responsibility of all parties involved in planning and building  projects on all levels – the wide spectrum that this event encompasses is reflected in the range of topics presented by the speakers. These include sustainable urban development, as exemplified by the award-winning thoroughfare in the German city of Rudersberg, presented by Martin Kaufmann – who, as mayor of the city, initiated and supported the project. Sebastian Schattenfroh reports on his experiences as attorney at law specializing in building and architect law on product specifications in invitations to tender. Expert adviser Piet Werland demonstrates examples for preventable errors in pavement construction. Andreas Brunkhorst, Senior Product Developer at braun-steine, presents product innovations and new developments. In conclusion, Franz-Josef Radermacher, scientist and member of the German Association Club of Rome, will elaborate on the consequences of energy and climate change.

Registration is at //www.braun-steine.de/steinforum" target="_blank" >www.braun-steine.de/steinforum:www.braun-steine.de/steinforum. The Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects and the Bavarian Chamber of Construction Engineering recognize participation as continued education.
