The half-day symposium is aimed at professionals in planning, construction, and expert assessment, as well as public and private project owners and employees of the industry association’s member companies.

The focus is on current developments in the technical regulations governing concrete paving construction methods. Key topics include the upcoming ATV DIN 18318 standard, as well as the current draft versions of the ZTV and TL Pflaster-StB guidelines for unbound and bound paving construction methods. Additionally, the symposium will address the design of expansion joints in bound paving construction and legal issues related to the recognized rules of technology.

Technical Standards and Expansion Joints

Following a welcome address by the Betonverband SLG and the InformationsZentrum Beton, Dipl.-Ing. Michael Fuchs will provide a brief overview of the EIPOS continuing education program for specialist engineers, planners, and construction managers in paving construction.

Next, Dipl.-Ing. Jürgen Rößner, a publicly appointed and sworn expert as well as chairman of ATV 18318, explains the updates to ATV DIN 18318. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Lorenzl from the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences will present the current draft versions of the revised ZTV and TL for Paving-StB, as well as the ZTV and TL for Paving-Geb-StB, which are currently under development.

Jörn Dahnke, a publicly appointed and sworn expert and technical director of Gesellschaft für technische Kunststoffe mbH, discusses the design of expansion joints in bound pavement construction and introduces a new tool to assist with planning. The event will conclude with a presentation by attorney Klaus Feckler of Bußmann & Feckler Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft mbB on the recognized rules of technology in connection with complaints and claims. The presentation will focus in particular on the role of DIN standards and other technical regulations governing paving construction.
