The Logo.3 wall formwork and Paschal Deck slab formwork are being used for the construction of the new elementary school at the Erhard-Schrempp School Center in Gengenbach. The formwork design was tailored to the exposed concrete surfaces planned for the solid-construction building.
Ed. Züblin AG is using formwork systems from Paschal for the project. As early as the execution planning stage, the parties involved coordinated the arrangement of the formwork elements, the joint pattern and the position of the tie points to achieve the desired appearance of the exposed concrete surfaces. To this end, Paschal prepared detailed wall elevations showing both the frame imprints and the position of the tie points.
Large-format elements for the wall surfaces
For the walls, Logo.3 wall formwork elements measuring 240 × 340 cm are predominantly being used. They are suited to the approximately 3.30 m-high stories. The large-format elements reduce the number of element joints. In addition, the newly sheeted formwork elements were supplied with only three required tie points over the height. A maximum of 160 m² of Logo.3 wall formwork is available for the wall surfaces.
The system was also used for the foundations and floor slab. Approximately 80 m² of formwork with a height of 90 cm was used in this area.
Slab formwork supports semi-precast slabs
Paschal Deck is used in the slab areas. Construction props and H20 beams support the semi-precast slabs; the system is also used for constructing the downstand beams between the columns. According to the manufacturer, no additional formwork solutions were required for slab edges or downstand beams.
The new building is being constructed using solid construction methods and will feature a curtain-type timber façade. The interior includes an open atrium and extensive exposed concrete surfaces.
