Goldbeck is a new member of the Solid Unit innovation network, which promotes climate-neutral construction using mineral building materials. With its industrial and process-optimized approach, Goldbeck brings valuable impetus to the network for efficient, resource-saving, and sustainable construction.
Buildings for business, education, mobility, and living
As one of Europe's leading construction and service companies, Goldbeck plans, builds, and operates buildings for business, education, mobility, and living – from industrial and logistics halls to office and school buildings to parking garages and residential quarters. The company pursues an integrated approach: from planning and implementation to operation and maintenance. Around 13,000 employees at over 100 locations in Europe are working on the vision of making construction more efficient, sustainable, and future-proof.
Focus on innovative, CO₂-reduced construction methods
There is a particular focus on innovative, CO₂-reduced construction methods. For example, Goldbeck has developed Blue Concrete, a concrete that produces up to 35 percent less CO₂ than conventional mixtures. In the long term, the company is pursuing the goal of constructing buildings in the 2030s that not only reduce their negative impact, but also make a positive contribution: by using building materials that bind more CO₂ than they emit, actively promoting biodiversity at the site, and serving as power plants and material stores for future generations.
“The transformation of the construction industry can only succeed if innovation drivers work together. We are therefore delighted to welcome Goldbeck, another strong partner to our network, which consistently combines serial construction in solid construction with the goal of resource efficiency,” emphasizes Thomas Zawalski, Managing Director of Solid Unit.
"Climate-neutral construction requires the courage to innovate and a willingness to collaborate. With Goldbeck Blue Concrete and our Concrete Innovation Center, we as a company are already setting new trends for sustainable building materials. Membership in Solid Unit is a logical step for us to actively promote the construction transition in dialogue with other players and to spread sustainable solutions," explains Dr. Michael Six, Managing Director of Goldbeck Deutschland GmbH and Chief Sustainability Officer of the Goldbeck Group.
