Remmers Group SE has launched the application phase for the Bernhard Remmers Award 2026. The international architecture prize, worth €15,000, is awarded every two years and honours projects that combine tradition and modernity in a special way, take responsibility for history, resources and building culture, and set new standards for sustainable and innovative construction. The closing date for entries is 31 December 2025.
Architecture with attitude – integral planning and implementation
For over two decades, the Bernhard Remmers Award has stood for the appreciation of outstanding achievements in the preservation of historical monuments, in building renovation and in timber and timber hybrid construction. Named after company founder Bernhard Remmers, the award honours architects who break new ground with respect and creative power and rethink the existing. The award is given to projects in which architects, restorers, craftsmen and builders have worked together in an exemplary manner – always in conjunction with the use of Remmers products. The three categories covered different areas of focus: in the preservation of historical monuments, the focus was on the conservation and careful restoration of historical structures; in building renovation, the focus was on the contemporary and sensitive redevelopment of existing buildings; and in the field of wood preservation and wood hybrid construction, the focus was on the innovative use and protection of one of the oldest and most sustainable materials.
