Longlife – Patented Wear Protection for Concrete Mixers

Detloff GmbH, a leader in wear protection based in Rechberghausen, southeast of Stuttgart, specializes in the field of wear protection and offers its customers proven, patented solutions for concrete mixers.

Longlife Wear Protection for Twin-Shaft Mixers

Longlife wear protection has proven itself successfully in asphalt mixers for several years; therefore, in 2024, the first concrete mixer (Ammann AMIX 3.5) was equipped with Detloff’s Longlife wear protection. The positive experience in continuous operation has encouraged the supplier to recommend this system for use in concrete batching plants as well.

According to the manufacturer, this is a long-overdue innovation for the mixing elements of a twin-shaft mixer. Replacing the arms and blades in a twin-shaft mixer is a major challenge; removing the old arms in the confined space of the mixer requires physical effort and is accompanied by noise and dirt.

A European patent has been granted for the Longlife solution developed by Detloff. Longlife eliminates the need to replace the arms; this new comprehensive wear protection provides the mixing elements—including the shafts - with all-around protection made of hard chrome cast iron that envelops them like a second skin.
A sophisticated fastening system that requires almost no tools enables convenient, time-saving installation. The blades come with pre-assembled fasteners, so the blade simply needs to be slipped onto the arm and tightened with a pneumatic screwdriver. Protective elements shield the fasteners from wear and contamination.

Conclusion:

Arms no longer need to be replaced,

Long-lasting protection for mixer shafts and arms,

Easy blade replacement.
