Around 40 participants from FDB member companies attended the annual general meeting of the Fachvereinigung Deutscher Betonfertigteilbau e. V. (FDB) in Rothenburg ob der Tauber on 25 September 2026. In addition to the board elections, the agenda focused on technical activities and two specialist presentations.
In his opening address, FDB Chairman Christian Drössler thanked the member companies for their support of the FDB working groups, technical activities and public relations measures. In particular, he highlighted the companies’ provision of experts as speakers at industry events and FDB training courses. The member companies thus provide the FDB with a solid foundation for continuously carrying out and expanding its various projects for structural precast concrete construction.
Drössler emphasized that sustainability will continue to play a central role in the FDB’s activities. Technical work at national and European level is of crucial importance in this context.
Board elections
Board elections were also held during the annual general meeting. Christian Drössler (Fuchs Fertigteilwerke GmbH) was confirmed as FDB Chairman and Christian Reckefuß (Betonwerk Werste GmbH) as Deputy Chairman. Three new board members – Michael Dauner (Marbeton GmbH), Günter Horndasch (Klebl Fertigteil GmbH) and Franz-Rainer Göhrle (Glass GmbH Bauunternehmung) – join the eight other board members who were confirmed in office.
For the next three years, the new FDB board will continue its work together with the FDB team under the leadership of FDB Managing Director Elisabeth Hierlein and shape the future direction of the association.
Presentations by external experts
The annual general meeting was complemented by two specialist presentations. Dr.-Ing. Angelika Schießl-Pecka, Managing Partner of engineering firm Schiessl, Gehlen, Sodeikat GmbH, spoke on “Durability design according to the ERC guideline – advantages for precast concrete elements?”.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Finckh from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at OTH Regensburg gave a presentation entitled “Preservation of structures through strengthening and further impulses for precast concrete construction”. The presentations were followed by a technical discussion.
Guided city tour to conclude the event
Following the annual general meeting, participants took part in a guided tour of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The event concluded with a joint dinner.
