Ice slurry storage tank the cooling of buildings and seasonal storage of excess solar-thermal energy
Tanks used in small wastewater treatment systems can also be used to effectively store excess amounts of solar-thermal energy to be utilized at a later point in time with the aid of a heat pump to significantly increase the share of self-sufficient heat supply. In the heating period, the heat pump operates at a minimum return temperature of -20°C, thus enabling the use of the latent heat of the saline water. In this system, the concrete is exposed to a 14% chloride solution at temperatures ranging from -20°C to +80°C.
