Art and 560 tons of concrete at Circus Roncalli

Sometimes concrete turns into magic. For the world premiere of „Cagliostro – Johann Strauss in the Circus Tent“ at Vienna‘s Heumarkt, the Kirchdorfer subsidiary MABA Fertigteilindustrie GmbH is using 560 tons of Quick Blocks to ensure that the iconic tent of the Roncalli Circus Theater can stand at all. Since conventional ground anchoring was not possible here, the stage for circus, operetta and music is only made possible in this way by pure engineering expertise.

Concrete blocks combine technology and poetry

The concrete blocks do not remain concealed. Together with the Red Carpet Art group of artists, they became part of an installation, combining art and technology visibly. A strong image for concrete as a safe foundation and as carrier of art and culture at the same time.

Christian Nageler, General Manager of MABA Fertigteilindustrie GmbH, states: „It is a special honor for us to be part of this major cultural project. Our precast concrete elements guarantee structural safety and also provide the foundation, on which art and culture can be created. Especially in the anniversary year of Johann Strauss, whose music has moved people for 200 years now, we see the parallel: Just as his works are created for eternity, concrete stands for resistance and durability.“
