The 2027 fib Symposium will take place from June 7 to 9, 2027, in Germany for the first time in over 25 years—specifically in Dresden, one of Europe’s most beautiful and innovative cities. Under the motto "ReThink Concrete: Structures for Sustainable Transformation", the organisers of the fib Symposium invite scientists, engineers, industrial partners and stakeholders to submit abstracts.
The international event will take place in Dresden, focusing on forward-looking developments in concrete construction. BFT International is supporting the symposium as an official media partner.
Call for Papers now open
With the Call for Papers, the organisers invite participants to share their cutting-edge research and innovative applications. After abstract acceptance, authors may choose between submitting a full paper or an extended abstract. Full papers will be published open access and indexed in Scopus. The deadline for abstract submission is July 31, 2026.
In parallel, the Call to Organize a Special Session is also open. The submission deadline for proposals has been extended to July 10, 2026. The organisers welcome a variety of formats, ranging from standard sessions to lightning talks and inspiring lectures.
International platform for research and industry
The fib Symposium 2027 will provide an international forum for scientists, engineers, industrial partners and stakeholders to present and discuss the newest state of practice, recent innovations and future perspectives in modern building and design, sustainability, structural health monitoring and resilience in civil engineering. In addition to the scientific programme, the event will offer valuable networking opportunities, a diverse trade exhibition and technical tours.
According to the organisers, around 400 international experts and 250 to 300 scientific lectures are expected.
Broad range of conference topics
The symposium will focus on advanced materials for concrete structures, structural design, analysis and modelling, innovative construction and prefabrication, monitoring, assessment and rehabilitation, outstanding structures and projects, developments in standards and guidelines, AI and digital tools, as well as safety, resilience and sustainability.
The symposium will be held at the Maritim Hotel and the adjoining International Congress Center Dresden. It is organised by Tudias GmbH in cooperation with TUD Dresden University of Technology and the Fédération internationale du béton (fib).
