(57) Concrete reinforcing systems (12) comprising steel ductility fuses (16) secured to fiber-reinforced polymer bars (14) are provided. The reinforcing systems (12) can be embedded within a concrete structural member (10) and can provide for elastic deformation of the member when subjected to a load sufficient to cause the member to deform. The concrete member (10) comprising the ductility fuses (16) are also repairable after experiencing a deformation-inducing load thereby permitting the structure containing the concrete member to be salvaged and returned to service.
