(57) The invention relates to a reference electrode for monitoring systems for reinforced-concrete structures that is based on a redox metal/metal oxide 1/metal oxide 2 system. The reference electrode comprises a metal sheet or wire (2), wherein the metal sheet or wire (2) is embedded in a cement mortar (1). The invention further relates to the use of said reference electrode for measuring the corrosion potentials of embedded reinforcements or to form part of the configuration of sensor systems, or multisensors, with a stable measurement potential to apply a sequence of voltammetric procedures that allow the presence of corrosion triggering and accelerating agents to be monitored.
