Concrete tells stories
Some publications hold a very special place in our heart. Our yearbook “Jahrbuch Beton Bauteile” – Concrete Structural Elements – is such a project. Perhaps because it allows us for a short time to step out of the daily editorial routine and into the world of stories that tell us about precast elements. Stories of technology and design, of research and art, of people who build and design with passion.
In this yearbook, we demonstrate once again how universally applicable, adaptable and inspiring precast concrete elements are today. They not only shape infrastructure and civil engineering but have also long since left their mark on architecture and culture. Anyone leafing through the chapters of publications on architecture, civil engineering, infrastructure and garden and landscaping will quickly realize that concrete is a material full of expressiveness and possibilities – technically precise, aesthetically sophisticated and designed with sustainability in mind.
Around 40 inspiring projects await you in this issue: buildings that show what is possible with precast concrete elements. To name just three: the White Tower in Mulegns, Switzerland, the Teatro Borsoni in Brescia, Italy and the Hotel X in Toronto, Canada. For us in the editorial team, the yearbook is a shared adventure every year. We discuss, write, research, marvel – and simply enjoy what we do. Perhaps that‘s exactly what the reader feels when browsing through the yearbook: our enthusiasm. The yearbook “Beton Bauteile 2026” (only in German) appears on 5 December and is available for pre-order now: www.Beton-Bauteile.de.
But first, I wish you much enjoyment in reading the equally exciting and inspiring BFT International for 11/2025.
