Workshop „Cracks in reinforced concrete – ordered, planned, constructed?“
Because of the high demand in 2016 and 2017, Deutsche Beton- und Bautechnik-Verein e. V. (DBV) organizes the half-day workshop „cracks in reinforced concrete – ordered, planned, constructed?“ on additional dates in 2018. The workshop is aimed at foremen, side managers, project managers as well as structural engineers, building object planners and constructors/owners.
Reinforced concrete – the cracked building material. In fact, this statement is a matter of course, but, anyhow, the formation of cracks is again and again an issue of dispute during and after the execution of a building project. Cracks are often intended according to plan, nevertheless they are complained when occurring in a building structure.
Separating cracks and the implementation in planning
Who does what? Who is in need of which information? What is the construction task exactly about? Are cracks intended according to plan and did they occur in the building structure as planned? Or is it even possible to construct and plan building structures free from cracks?
So as to be able to give answers to these questions, among others, when involved in a project, one focus of the event will be to give information on the design principles with a view to separating cracks in concrete and reinforced concrete components as well as their implementation in planning. The DBV Code of Practice „Limitation of crack formation in reinforced and prestressed concrete construction“ now includes these principles, which are also known from other rules and regulations already.
The second main focus of the DBV workshops is on measures for implementing the intended design principle in terms of concrete technology and execution of construction work.
In 2018, the workshops will take place on April 17 in Stockdorf, on April 18 in Frankfurt am Main-Langenselbold and on April 19 in Hamburg – always from 12.30 p.m. to 16.00 p.m.
