Presenting the training program

“Specialist engineer / specialist designer / specialist construction supervisor for paving construction”

In Germany, well over half of urban traffic surfaces in both the municipal and private sectors are surfaced by means of concrete block and slab pavements. There are repeated incidents of damage despite the fact that Germany has a comprehensive set of technical guidelines and standards in place.

From 21 January 2021, EIPOS, in cooperation with the Chair of Road Construction of the TU Dresden, will for the 5th time offer an in-service training program in paving construction that is unique throughout Germany.

Specialist expertise coming with a degree

The objective is to provide designers, civil engineers, employees of engineering and design offices as well as construction companies with in-depth knowledge on paving construction, slab pavements and permeable block pavements. Participants will learn how to draw up qualified designs and correct invitations to tender, how to correctly execute concrete block and slab pavements, and how to properly supervise and approve the construction work. The applicability of the program’s technical contents to their day-to-day job is ensured by a practice-based curriculum and by the study courses held in the TU Dresden’s road construction laboratory.

The specialist training program is supported and funded by the following sponsoring associations: Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauindustrie e.V. (Main Association of the German Construction Industry), Zentralverband des Deutschen Baugewerbes e.V. (Central Association of the German Building Trade), Betonverband Straße, Landschaft, Garten e.V. (German Concrete Association for Roads, Landscaping, and Garden Construction), Bundesverband der Deutschen Ziegelindustrie (Federal Association of the German Brick Industry), Deutscher Naturwerksteinverband e.V. (German Ashlar Association), Landesinnungsverband des Sächsischen Straßenbaugewerbes (State Guild Association of the Saxon Road Construction Trade), IG Deutscher Pflasterer und Steinsetzer e.V. (Community of German Paving Block and Slab Layers).
