Wilhelm Modersohn GmbH & Co. KG, based in Spenge (North Rhine-Westphalia), is one of the leading manufacturers of façade fixing systems made of stainless steel, in particular Lean Duplex steel. As part of Leviat, a CRH company, Modersohn has devoted the past two years to further product development alongside its integration into the group.

The result is a new generation of masonry support anchors: the MK6 bracket system ensures safe, economical and durable fixing of brickwork façades to load-bearing structures. The system combines the technical advantages of the Modersohn and Halfen support anchor ranges.

A dedicated Leviat development group, bringing together expertise from R&D, engineering, sales and product management, oversaw the optimization of the system. “The coordinated launch by a product manager was a new experience for us. All stakeholders were kept involved throughout the entire development process. The sales approach via a key account manager and an external sales team was also new to Modersohn,” explains Managing Director Dipl.-Ing. Jürgen Matzelle.

Optimized system for high load capacity and energy efficiency

Leviat is an international supplier of lifting, connecting and anchoring technologies for the construction and industrial sectors. By combining the established brands Halfen and Modersohn, the company offers customers synergy effects, enhanced service and consistent product quality.

The MK6 masonry support anchor made of Lean Duplex steel combines high load-bearing capacity with a slim design and corrosion resistance classes CRC III to V. It is available in load classes 4.0 kN, 8.0 kN and 12.0 kN and for cavity widths up to 450 mm. Its optimized geometry reduces thermal bridging and thus contributes to energy efficiency. Quality is ensured by the general building approval for the bracket head, type-tested brackets and CE marking in accordance with EN 845-1.

The product portfolio includes different MK6 anchor types for a wide range of construction situations. Advantages include easy handling on site, safe installation and stepless vertical adjustment of ± 20 mm.

To ensure reliable supply, Leviat will commission the MK6 anchors at its Spenge site. The existing Modersohn and Halfen systems will remain available for the time being and will be gradually replaced by the MK6 range.
