PFAS-free impregnation for concrete brought to the market

Who is looking at a concrete façade on a rainy day in autumn, will occasionally see dark stains which may turn into permanent damages in the course of time. When it comes to protect the material, until now, products containing so-called „forever chemicals“ were often used. But their time is running out: The EU is currently preparing a far-reaching ban on certain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Fabrino has recognized the signs at an early stage and developed an alternative with Sicorol Eco TN that is equally effective as it is sustainable.

    Sicorol Eco TN is based on the proven technology of Sicorol F, however, does completely without PFAS. As a result, the product meets the future legal requirements already today. At the same time, the impregnation impresses with its technical properties: It is solvent-free, fast-drying and provides excellent protection against carbonation as well as a considerable improvement of the freeze-thaw and deicing salt resistance.

Versatile – even in a water protection area

The new product of Fabrino is suitable for all mineral substrates and extremely porous natural stones. The PFAS-free Sicorol Eco TN impregnation of Fabrino ensures that concrete preserves its natural aesthetics – even under severe weather conditions.

Main users are precast concrete plants, where Sicorol Eco TN is either applied in a spraying or rolling process in the factory. But local authorities and building contractors also benefit from the flexibility of the impregnation: A special advantage compared to previous solutions is the fact that it can be applied even subsequently in water protection areas – ideal for projects where treatment is to be carried out in hindsight.
