Fuchs family company starts ERP migration

The partnership of Gesys and Softbauware enabled Gesys’ established customer base to obtain complete migration to ERP Complete Solutions of Softbauware, aimed at creating a long-term and sustainable software solution. Only a few months after launching the migration offer, the owner-managed Fuchs Fertigteilwerke and Fuchs Europoles – one of the largest concrete plant groups as well as the largest Gesys customer – decided to take a common path with Softbauware.

The Fuchs Group – one of the major concrete and precast manufacturers in Germany –– focuses on future security. Recently, the final project launch for ERP initiated migration at two of their companies: Fuchs Fertigteilwerke Süd GmbH and Fuchs Europoles GmbH. Both companies are replacing the previously used system Gesys and are migrating to Gesys’ solutions via Gesybos to Softbauware’s Erpbos and Erpnow. While the concrete plants from now on operate with Erpbos, the specialized software for the construction industry, Europoles decided to work with the standard solution Erpnow. In this way, the corporate group is creating a common technological basis with customized modules for both business segments: from the classic precast plant to the specialized supplier of masts and towers. Following finalized migration, a total of more than 800 employees of the Fuchs Group will work with the new system. For Softbauware, this is not only an important individual order, but the starting signal for strategic migration of all existing Gesys customers, jointly with Enventa Group.

Securing technology, shaping the future

“Digitization has been a central topic for many years at the Fuchs Group,” emphasizes Michael Novotny, Managing Director at Fuchs Europoles. “By implementing the ERP solutions of Softbauware, new opportunities are opening up for making processes more efficiently and for further advancing our future viability.”

For Softbauware GmbH, the project is also a signal to the market: “Together with Gesys and enventa, we demonstrate to the Fuchs Group a migration strategy that secures both technological progress as well as the reliability of the existing processes,” explains Stefan Zabicki, Managing Director of Softbauware and Gesys.” The mix of industry-specific software and standard ERP, together with a free development environment, provide customers with maximum flexibility and simplified administration.” The project teams at Gesys and Softbauware support the migration process as partners. In addition to technology, the focus is most of all on transfer of knowledge in order to ensure smooth transition.

Market-wide signal

The Fuchs’ decision, as Gesys’ largest customer and major player in the construction industry, to decide on the complete ERP solution of Softbauware, is a clear signal to the entire market. The project shows how a modern ERP strategy can advance the construction industry in targeted form – without risk to ongoing processes.
