VBF Nord continues to sail in safe waters

VBF Nord held its 83rd ordinary general meeting on 23 June in Bremen, Germany. Its President, Dr. Eike Bielak, and its Managing Director, Dr. Jens Uwe Pott, welcomed the participants and guests on board the Weser passenger vessel Ship No. 2. The Executive Board and Company Management reported on the development of the association as well as on its activities in the past business year. The latter had been primarily determined by the new Construction Products Directive and the problems arising from it.

Dr. Bielak and Dr. Pott gave a brief outlook on future association work. VBF Nord is seeking collaboration with the association of the construction industry of Lower Saxony-Bremen, as of 1 September 2017, in order to be able to support its members still more effectively in problems arising from labor law.

Christov Plötner and Andreas Schmale were also unanimously confirmed in their offices as vice presidents, as were Christof Rekers, as member of the Executive Board. Christoph Carouge (H+H Deutschland GmbH) and Norwin Stärker (Betonwaren GmbH) were newly elected to the Executive Board. Frank Dürkop, Manfred Lippert, and Dr. Klaus Stärker were no longer available for reelection.

The following were elected and/or reelected to the Sociopolitical Committee: Klaus Bartram, Dr. Eike Bielak, Christoph Carouge, Eberhard Dold, Christoph Döpke, Detlef Eydam, Susanne Michaelis, Christov Plötner, and Christof Rekers.

Positive development
