Reconstruction of The Berlin City Palace –

Demolished in 1950 by the GDR regime, the German Lower House of Parliament decided, in 2002, to rebuild the Hohenzollern Palace with three sides of baroque façades and one of the courts (Schlüterhof). In the subsequent competition, Italian architecture professor Franco Stella got the nod of approval for his combination of modern architectural concrete and the lavish splendor of the baroque façades.
