New gantry crane for Dutch precaster

Teichmann Krane delivered a new gantry crane with an 8-ton carrying capacity and a span of 29 m to the production site of the precaster VBI Schuilenburg in Oostermer in the Netherlands. In the future, the crane will transport precast concrete elements in the form of so-called hollowcore panels for housing construction in two-shift operation, which will replace a storage-yard crane that has gotten on in years.

For this purpose, the crane has a hoisting height of 7 m and can reach traveling speeds of up to 100 m/min.

Latest state of the art for effective and high-performance use

For effective use in two-shift operation, the crane features the latest state of the art and is equipped with cutting-edge PLC technology, controlled by wireless LAN. It is also remarkable that the crane can be operated both from the operator’s cab and remotely via radio control. All this affords the user maximum flexibility.

Secure operation with LED lighting, video surveillance, laser sensors and wind alarm system

For safe and user-friendly operation of the crane at any time of day and night, the crane bridge, the four crane supports, the trolley and the crane cabin are all equipped with complete LED lighting.

The laser scanners installed in all undercarriages serve as collision protection and initiate automatic switch-off in case of sudden movements within the working range of the crane. In addition, the built-in wind-alarm system measures both wind speed and wind direction and warns the operator of approaching wind acoustically as well as visually on the display.

The comfortably outfitted crane cabin features, in addition to a heater and full air-conditioning, a monitor with touch panel for controlling and supervising by use of a load indicator, and for monitoring wind speeds – as well as video surveillance by a camera fixed to the underside of the cabin. With floor-to-ceiling windows and a 270-degree revolving control station, the crane operator thus has a complete all-around view of all operations.
