Handover of a 75-meter gantry crane to Otto Quast
A milestone for modular housing construction: Otto Quast Bau AG in Coswig, located in the German federal state of Saxony, recently commissioned an impressive Teichmann gantry crane with a total length of 75 meters and a load capacity of 40 tons. The crane was specially adapted to the customer‘s demanding requirements and successfully handed over.
In order to be able to transport precast elements on the storage area with maximum efficiency in the future, a tailor-made crane solution was developed.
The gantry crane, with a load capacity of 40 tons, has a track width of 36 meters and usable reaches of 16 meters and 10 meters. This means that, in the future, precast concrete elements can be moved efficiently and precisely over a total length of 62 meters – a decisive advantage for the customer‘s storage and production processes.
Optimal warehouse utilization thanks to greater crane reach
Thanks to the greater reach in comparison with the existing crane, the customer can now actively use additional areas of its warehouse space and thus make optimal use of the available space.
Completely overhauled structure and complete renewal of all components
As part of the project, Otto Quast Bau AG requested that its existing steel structure be retained and completely overhauled. All other components, including the electrical system and controls, were completely renewed.
“With this gantry crane, our customer receives a powerful, durable, and customized solution that sets new standards in both load capacity and working range,” says Marcel Djordic, project manager at Teichmann Krane. The handover marks the successful completion of a technically demanding project that once again demonstrates the company‘s expertise in developing customized crane solutions.
