Vollert Anlagenbau

Machinery and plant supplier turns 90 and invests
in the future

In view of the future, Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH is investing more than 4 million Euros in production lines, offices, conference and recreation rooms at the Weinsberg location in 2015. On June 26 and 27, the machinery and plant supplier celebrated its 90th anniversary with more than 1,000 customers, partners and staff members from all over the world. Along with Reinhold Gall, Minister of the Interior of Baden-Württemberg, they expected customers, among others, from Russia, China, Thailand and India.

“The most important strength of our company is our flexibility,” stated Hans-Jörg Vollert, present general manager and grandson of the company founder, Hermann Vollert. For 90 years now, the long-established company in its third generation has been internationally successful, while continuously changing. “Our customers determine our activities. We, in turn, support them with innovative ideas and solutions for coping with their tasks, no matter how exceptional they may be.”

Vollert is one of the world’s technology leaders in the field of intra-logistics solutions for the metal and aluminum industry, precast concrete factories as well as shunting and loading systems. The customers come from more than 80 countries; and already in the 1930 s, Vollert had delivered equipment to Rumania, Hungary and even to America. “But internationalization will anyway remain the greatest challenge in future, even if it is a known territory for us,” the company boss said. “At present we have an export share of 85 %, almost entirely generated outside Europe. Asian markets, such as China, India and Thailand, but also Latin America, are important regions for our further development.”

“Made in Germany”
as quality characteristic

Germany as a location for business is further strengthened by expanding international activities – despite our own subsidiaries in Russia, South America, China and India. This year, Vollert again makes strong investments in the expansion of the company at the Weinsberg headquarters. Additional office space, conference and recreation rooms have been built for the about 250 employees; the company furthermore invested in two new processing centers and a larger outdoor storage area.

Vollert is delivering customers all over the world from the Weinsberg location. “For us and many of our customers ‚Made in Germany’ is an important quality characteristic,” Hans-Jörg Vollert underlines. “Manufacturing in Germany is a crucial factor for our flexibility and rapid response. Moreover, we get the best trained skilled workers here – this too makes ‚Made in Germany’ so unique.” For the staff, however, growing internationalization also implies the need of having to adapt even more to the different cultures of the markets. According to Hans-Jörg Vollert, it is as important to know two foreign languages as an integral technological advancement of boys and girls, to make sure that highly skilled engineers will be available in the future. As a long-established company Vollert assumes responsibility in the region, too.

Apart from cultural and sports events as well as social initiatives, the company attaches great importance to promoting education and training. On the occasion of the anniversary, the German association “fascination with technology” (Faszination Technik e.V.) got a donation worth 10,000 Euros for promoting the technological advancement at schools as well as kindergartens.
