Heavy-duty arch-shaped block pavement for community in wine-growing region

Which material is most appropriate for rehabilitating streets in a small wine-growing community? The local council members of Monsheim, in the southern Rhenish Hesse region, had to find an answer to this question when a major rehabilitation program for many streets within the Flörsheim-Dalsheim community got underway in 2014. Asphalt was ruled out for visual reasons, and quarry stone had previously proved to be unsuitable due to high traffic loads caused by a large number of tractors operated by local vineyards.
