Company Fuchs adds chamber filter press
Fuchs Fertigteilwerke GmbH is a long-established, family-operated company looking back on more than 75 years of experience in the production, distribution and development of precast concrete elements. In 2018, the company opted for a Bibko ComTec 20 residual concrete recycling plant to be operated at their Röttenbach-based factory. In order to ensure the professional purification of excess residual water, it was decided to expand the residual concrete recycling plant by adding a chamber filter press with 12 filter chambers. The process is automated, which largely dispenses with the need for manual operation on the part of the plant user. If the water level in the agitator basin – which is connected to the Comtec20 – rises above a value predetermined by the customer, the chamber filter press commences operation immediately in order to bring the filling level to the previously specified level.
The recycling water including fines, which has an average density of 1.05 to 1.07 kg/l, is pumped into the chamber filter press at increased pressure via a pneumatic diaphragm pump, causing the chamber filter press to purify the recycling water. The fine particles contained in the water are pressed through the respective filter plates, which are covered with special filter cloth, to form a compact filter cake. The press then opens automatically and discharges the material in a shaking operation. The filter cake produced in the water purification process can then simply be reused, for example, as recycling material in road construction. The purified water can be fed back into the production process. Both the chamber filter press and the recycling system can be equipped with additional systems. Chamber filter presses from Bibko are available in different sizes and designs and can additionally be adapted to all standard residual concrete recycling systems.
Having successfully completed over 1,900 projects, Bibko is looking back on a wealth of experience in the design and supply of recycling systems for the concrete industry.
