Compact precast plant for Tetra in the north of Russia

The mobile plant concept MBM has been invented by the Weckenmann company in 2016 and has been awarded by the Bauma-Preis. The Tetra Company from the north of Russia immediately expressed their interest in it. After three years of development and presentations regarding the clients’ wishes, the performance and the concept for future productions, Weckenmann and Tetra reached an agreement. The focus was a compact production, high product quality and reliable equipment.

The customer’s requirement was to fully cover the product pallet of precast components of various sizes with the help of a battery mold. Furthermore, the climatic conditions didn’t allow an outdoor production. Therefore, Weckenmann developed a semi-mobile variant of its battery mold with increased static, which allowed the production of all elements of a prefabricated apartment house within one battery mold – including massive concrete pallets up to a thickness of 180 – 200 mm.

The basic construction has been adapted to the customer’s products

Tetra’s house design and all the concrete elements of the prefabricated apartment house were reshaped down to the last detail – including massive ceilings of up to 3,6 m x 8,0 m and with a not-standard thickness of up to 200 mm. The construction of the house has been adjusted to the seismic conditions. It allows the application within various climatic and geographical areas and even in earthquake zones. The compact production plant enables the construction of modern apartment houses with a variety of different façade types. The production capacity of 22.000 – 25.000 m2 living space, depends on the design of the house. That is enough for a small and medium-sized company. Or for those who are new to the market and want to establish themselves as property developers or building contractors. The construction plant needs little space – 50 m in length and 18 m in width, including an interim storage within the hall. The concrete can be delivered directly from the mixing plant or with the concrete mixer.

The project, which was finished in March 2021 includes:

A battery mold with 20 compartments and integrated vibration- and heating systems;

Concrete spreader;

Production tables for not standardized large parts

Formwork for stairs;

Forms for ventilation ducts;

Magnetic formwork as well as door and window box-outs.

Weckenmann offered a solution for Tetra that allows not only to manufacture concrete elements in the acquired quantity, but also to expand the existing production with little effort. That is an example for the so called “open”, flexible production on the basis of Weckenmann-plants. The latter is beneficial for Tetra, especially regarding the long-term business strategy. It grants optimal and stable business parameters for the long-term operation and the development of the company.
