Reinforcing steel BSt 500 KR in coils for DIN 1045-1:2008-08
In addition to lattice girders and punching shear reinforcement, Filigran Trägersysteme GmbH & Co. KG now has taken up the production of reinforcing steel in coils. For this purpose, on May 5, 2009, DIBt (German Institute for Construction Engineering) has granted the national technical approval Z-1.2-241 for cold-formed, ribbed reinforcing steel BSt 500 (KR)A in coils for nominal diameters of 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, and 12 mm.
Although the 2009 published standard DIN 488:2009-08 for reinforcing steel in Part 3 also regulates reinforcing steel in coils. This standard, however, has not been added yet to the “Bauregelliste A Teil 1” (building regulation list A part 1), so that it is still necessary to get a technical approval for reinforcing steel in coils. Only after the approval of the standard for reinforcement steel by the national building authorities, which is expected to be implemented in the second half of 2010, reinforcing steel in coils can be evaluated and certified on the basis of the new standard DIN 488.
