BFT Mixing Technology Forum
It’s almost that time again, dear readers: the next BFT Mixing Technology Forum will take place on October 8. The most recent event of this kind was held at Borussia Park in Mönchengladbach and already drew a large number of visitors. This time, Kortmann Beton GmbH in Schüttorf is opening its doors and, in addition to the lecture program, offering a tour of its concrete plant. Since the “Kortmann team” recently modernized its production facilities – coinciding with the company’s 75th anniversary last year – this provides an ideal practical reference for the professional audience. The companies Haarup, Eirich, Würschum, Bikotronic, Ubo Engineering, and VHV Anlagenbau are participating as Premium partners in the expert forum; they provided Kortmann with the core concrete mixers, batch mixers, color dosing system, plant control system, and the steel structure as well as the material transport system to the mixer. With AJF, Cemex, and Sonocrete, three additional Premium partners are on board.
Alongside host Julian Krümpel, Managing Director at Kortmann Beton, I have the honor of guiding you through the program. At this one-day event, you can look forward to exciting technical presentations as well as the factory tour mentioned at the beginning. You can find more detailed information in the preview on pp. 12-13. Special highlights at Kortmann include CO₂-free facade blocks made of geopolymer concrete, the “Tasiko” modular system, and the Mobility foundations.
I’d also like to recommend other excellent articles in this issue, including the visit report by my esteemed colleague Kristin Hanneforth at Koll Betonsteinwerke, a technical essay on prestressed concrete in production at Moll Rail, and a case study on the KBH recycling crusher.
