New COO for Doka Germany

Since the beginning of the year, Markus Hlawatsch has joined the management team of Doka Deutschland GmbH as Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, the 36-year-old is responsible for the Operations and Engineering divisions of the German subsidiary.

With the appointment of Markus Hlawatsch as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Doka Germany is strengthening its operational and technical expertise at the highest management level. The COO will be responsible for the Operations and Engineering divisions, thereby combining planning and execution in a single role. The goal is to shorten decision-making processes and further strengthen the company’s ability to execute in an increasingly complex market environment. In doing so, Hlawatsch is focusing primarily on the opportunities and possibilities offered by automation and the use of artificial intelligence to support employees in their work and optimize processes in a sustainable manner.

With Doka since 2022

Markus Hlawatsch joined Doka in June 2022 as strategic assistant to Managing Director Frank Müller. In this role, he drove numerous internal organizational and strategic development projects at the management level. Within a short time, he subsequently took on the position of Head of Logistics Germany before being appointed Head of Operations in December 2024. Since January 2026, he has been strengthening the management team of Doka Germany alongside Frank Müller (CEO) and Joachim Immerz (CSO). Hlawatsch holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Wood Technology from Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences and a Master’s degree in International Management from the International School of Management Munich, thereby ideally bridging the two worlds. “I am very pleased about the trust placed in me. The construction industry has had a few difficult years, during which a lot has changed. I now see this as a great opportunity to adapt processes, rethink things, and thereby prepare ourselves for the upcoming market upturn,” said the COO.

Expansion of the Executive Board

For Frank Müller himself, the expansion of the executive board is the result of such a re-evaluation of the company’s strategic alignment: “With Joachim Immerz as Chief Sales Officer and Markus Hlawatsch as Chief Operating Officer, we are sharpening our profile and reinforcing our commitment to being the best in every area. We are currently experiencing an extremely challenging time. On the one hand, geopolitical events are becoming increasingly unpredictable, with all the consequences that entails for supply chains, raw material trading, and so on. On the other hand, we must almost speak of technological leaps rather than progress, which hold incredible potential—keyword: AI. By specializing at the management level as well, we aim to address these developments.”
