The BIBM Congress follows the BetonTage
This spring of 2026, dear readers, offers you some top-tier industry events. Although the next bauma won’t take place until April 2028, with the BetonTage in Ulm – which just concluded – and the BIBM Congress in Rome, two heavyweights of the concrete industry were and are once again on the scene this year.
In March, the BetonTage once again attracted a wide audience of around 1,500 visitors from near and far, and one of the many highlights was the Presentation of the Innovation Award for the Supplier Industry, jointly awarded every two years by the organizer FBF Betondienst and your trade journal BFT International. This time, Emidat took the top prize among 18 submissions (see report p. 4); Heidelberg Materials and SteelTec received honorable mentions. If you’d like to read more: all entries were published as short articles in the BFT issues 02 and 03/2026.
The BIBM Congress, in turn, is looking forward to a large number of participants as well, who can expect an exciting program and an informative accompanying exhibition in the “Eternal City” of Rome from May 20 to 22 (see p. 54 ff.). Here, too, BFT is involved as part of the organizing body, the Building Congress Forum (BCF).
Another high-profile event this spring is the Italian Concrete Days (GIC), which will take place in Piacenza from April 16 to 18 – shortly after this issue is published – and is organized by Mediapoint & Communications S.R.L., Genoa.
I look forward to engaging in exciting discussions with you at one or more of these events and hope you enjoy reading this issue.
