My way into a fascinating sector of industry
Many of you already know me, but I would still like to use my first editorial to briefly introduce myself: My name is Kristin Hanneforth, I am currently completing an editorial traineeship and am now delighted to be able to contribute to our industry in an editorial capacity.
Because I did not originally come from this specialist area, the past year has been particularly instructive for me. Every event, every exchange and every conversation have allowed me to delve a little deeper into the fascinating world of precast concrete elements. Events such as the BetonTage, Bauma and most recently IAB Weimar have shown me how vibrant, open and forward-looking the industry is.
The year 2026, will once again bring important industry events, and I am especially looking forward to the people and discussions that make these occasions so valuable every year.
In this issue, on pp. 52 ff., you will find the current program for the 70th Concrete Days, which will take place in March under the motto “Markets for People.” The focus will be on how concrete elements can help shape the markets of tomorrow in a way that is both climate-friendly and people-friendly. Another highlight will follow in May with the BIBM Congress in Rome, which promises exciting international perspectives and valuable impetus for the precast concrete industry. Both are important events which we can jointly look forward to. As the year draws to a close, I would like to express my gratitude for the many open discussions and warm encounters that have enriched my entry into the industry.
I look forward to seeing familiar faces again in the new year and meeting many new ones. I wish you and your families a peaceful Christmas season and a good start into a healthy and successful new year.
