Brikers chooses Upadvanced Production Boards in Dobele, Latvia

For more than 15 years, Brikers Group has relied on myWood production boards. The company operates several concrete product plants across Latvia and Lithuania. During this time, the UPplus wooden production boards have proven their worth in daily production operations and have been replaced regularly as part of the standard replacement cycle.

The growing market demand for premium paving products has required the company to introduce new quality standards. Production boards are an integral part of this process. Therefore, the company’s management decided to invest in UPadvanced boards from myWood for its plant in Dobele, Latvia, where the need to improve product quality was particularly acute.

„We are very pleased with the decision to invest in UPadvanced production boards,“ states Brikers Group‘s management. „Our goal is to gradually modernize all our production sites. We view this investment not only as a way to further enhance the quality of our concrete products but also as a significant contribution to increasing the overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our production operations.“

From testing to trust

Brikers Group had been testing myWood’s plastic-coated wooden boards since 2018 to evaluate their long-term performance under real-world production conditions. Over the following years, the advantages of the plastic-coated production board became increasingly apparent. The fully sealed, wear-resistant surface consistently ensured smooth concrete products. The board’s exceptional rigidity minimized deflection under heavy loads and ensured excellent vibration transmission, resulting in superior concrete compaction. At the same time, the comparatively low weight of the board kept mechanical stress on the production equipment to a minimum and made handling the boards easier. Furthermore, the board’s versatility enabled the production of various product formats without compromising on quality.

This practical experience confirmed the benefits that had already been demonstrated in numerous modern concrete product plants across Europe and around the world.

Decision to invest

Considering this background, the investment decision was an easy one. During a meeting in autumn 2025, Brikers Group CEO Uldis Dirvens and Procurement manager Sergejs Gogolevs, together with representatives from myWood, agreed on the supply of UPadvanced production boards for the plant in Dobele.

The boards were delivered on time in early 2026 and immediately put into operation on the production line, using the 1,400 x 1,100 mm board format.

Setting New Quality Standards

In the middle of the production season, this investment is already yielding measurable benefits.

According to Brikers Group, the new boards ensure outstanding surface quality and excellent vibration transmission, resulting in improved concrete compaction and consistently high product quality. Another positive outcome is a noticeable reduction in cement consumption while further improving product quality.
