Textured formliners produced for five decades

For 50 years now, elastic textured formliners of Reckli have ensured freedom of design when it comes to architectural concrete surfaces.

An accidental discovery, 50 years ago, laid the foundation of an innovative way to design concrete: A tire mark in concrete was the source of inspiration for the idea of elastic textured formliners. With patience and without being afraid of mistakes, the company founders, Hans-Jürgen Wiemers and Franz Ernst, developed a forward-looking product and founded a special company on August 15, 1968.

For five decades, Reckli has been manufacturing elastic formliners which allow providing concrete with the imprint of even most demanding patterns that are true to detail. Seeing the tire mark, Wiemers realized that only an elastic formliner would deliver exact results. It had to be soft enough to be removed from the hardened concrete without any problems. At the same time, he intended to conceive a product being hard-wearing enough to be used in the construction industry. He had been working together with Franz Ernst on prototypes until the formliner satisfied all requirements.

Exclusively represented in more than 66 countries

Reckli formliners have been synonymous for expressive concrete surfaces since the company foundation. Architects and planners use them to make façades the showpiece of a building. The company had always ensured that the formliners meet modern demands regarding their production, handling and in respect of the selection of patterns.

Reckli has established as an internationally successful company in the market with the aid of the right feeling for the market and commitment for partners and customers. At present, Reckli GmbH has a workforce of more than 100 people and is exclusively represented in over 66 countries across the world. Reckli operates own subsidiaries in France, the USA and in the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Bernd Trompeter, working with the company since 1997 and as Managing Director since 2008, proudly looks back on the past five decades and looks confidently towards the future. „We are a modern company which continues to develop. The excellent products and exceptional employees are the key for our success.“ The 50-year anniversary will be celebrated adequately with an international workshop held mid-September, with almost all international partners coming to Herne on this occasion, as well as a big party with all employees and partners.

One of the numerous congratulators was the IHK Mittleres Ruhrgebiet Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
