Standardization for pipes and manholes made of concrete and
reinforced concrete –
Contrary to the European standards for vitrified clay, cast iron and plastic pipes, it took much more time to develop the standards EN 1916 (concrete pipes and fittings, unreinforced, steel fiber and reinforced) and EN 1917 (concrete manholes and inspection chambers, unreinforced, steel fiber and reinforced). From 1988 to 2001 the working group (WG 9) entrusted with the task discussed these two standards which were publish as EN in 2002.
