Many citizens of the city of Bergisch-Gladbach in Germany do not like to think back on the flood disaster of 2012. Since the probability of another flood is increasing due to climate change, those responsible in this city, near Cologne, have decided on implementing comprehensive flood protection measures. Since October 2015, the city has been working on completing the project “Strunde hoch vier,” giving the Strunde top priority.
