New player on the market of concrete block production systems

In sight of the harbor of Emden, Germany, not far from the pier for transporting offshore wind power plants, around 20 employees have started work in a new internationally active company.

This new supplier in the concrete block production market manufactures fully-automated production systems for the concrete block industry. In addition, the company offers conversions of existing systems as well as spare parts delivery. By now the team has grown to 35, and work in a rented production hall is fully underway.

One of the prime advantages that Q&G Maschinenbau GmbH enjoys is the experience that many of its employees have previously gained at one of Germany’s leading manufacturers for concrete block machines. Looking back over the first months of business, sales manager Heike Boes concludes: “Dynamic development during the first few months is fantastic. It is wonderful to see how our colleagues incorporate their own ideas into the processes.”

Work on the contract for the first new plant in progress

Final planning for the first block machine was completed at the end of May. Shipment to the first customer is already scheduled for December; a second machine will go to Bauma China in autumn. “Fast reaction times on the part of local suppliers as well as numerous additional suppliers throughout Germany will ensure smooth project execution,” says Technical Manager Wolfgang Hülsebus. ”Special requirements in the flow of production or special customer requests are always taken into consideration,” continues Hülsebus “because every member of our team in Emden has many years’ experience in the design, construction, assembly, and commissioning of fully automated production systems for concrete blocks.”

At Erlus AG in Ergoldsbach, Germany, Q&G Maschinenbau GmbH implemented gradual modernization of the OMAG production plant. Conversion took place in two steps: First, the finger car and the dry side were converted; the wet side with the block machine followed in the second step. The first construction section was completed in advance of the actually scheduled deadline, to the satisfaction of the customer.

Additional expansion planned

Q&G Maschinenbau has already purchased a plot of land in the Frisia Industrial Park in Emden. The company will occupy the site, measuring more than 6 hectares, beginning in 2015. On it, a large production hall of around 3,000 m² and an administrative building will be built as first stage.

The team of Sales Manager Heiko Boes is currently visiting trade shows the world over. Apart from new production systems, the team from Emden offers its customers support for and implementation of projects involving conversion, spare parts supply, and a daily service hotline.
