WBR ROHR- UND BAUELEMENTE

A quarter-century of innovation and success

The company wbr Rohr- und Bauelemente GmbH, located in Ölbronn-Dürrn in the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg, can look back with pride and gratitude on a quarter-century success story.

Since its foundation in 2000, the company has become an indispensable partner in its sector for pipes and building components: one that has always stood for quality, innovation and reliable solutions.

Started as an MBO project, it is today a future-oriented company with a reputation not only for its products, but also for its commitment to excellent service and sustainability – to which its workforce, partners and customers have significantly contributed.

Over the past 25 years, the wbr GmbH has been a sought-after supplier of pipes and components for many – often extraordinary – projects throughout Europe. The following lists some of these special exemplary projects:

Strelasund Crossing – a bridge between Stralsund and the
island of Rügen (Germany)

High-speed rail connection between Lüttich and Aachen (Belgium)

Eindhoven Bypass (Netherlands)

Subway rail system in Vienna (Austria)

Metro underground rail system in Paris (France)

Sava Bridge in Belgrade (Serbia)

Elbe Bridge Wittenberge (Germany)

High-tech factories in Dresden (Germany).

For the majority of these projects, special corrugated pipes were used for the prestressing strands. The longitudinally welded corrugated piping used here –manufactured exclusively by wbr – is the number-one product chosen by planners and users throughout Europe due to its high processing quality, according to the supplier.

The pipes are used both for construction of motor expressways and for new railway lines – and there in particular for express rail lines.

And wbr has not only continuously further developed its product range but has also tapped new markets and mastered the challenges encountered there.

An example of this are two special projects in Dresden, where several international high-tech companies are in the process of establishing themselves and/or are massively extending their product capacities: e.g., Infineon, Jenoptik and, just now, TSMC.

For these customers, the wbr GmbH has manufactured several thousand pipe cylinders of stainless steel in the diameter range of 400 to 450 mm. Until now, these have been the largest individual orders in the 25 years of the company.

The pipes serve as conduits in floors for suction of air as well as for ensuring flexibility, supply and arrangement of production processes. Toward these ends, it was necessary to supply ready-to-install pipes, virtually “just in time,” over a period of several months.

The wbr can be proud of what it has achieved in the course of the years, as well as of the fact that it plays an important role in its sector and throughout Europe. But the company is not taking this success for granted. It serves, rather, as motivation for continuously and further developing innovative solutions, for optimizing processes and for meeting the needs of customers at all times.
