On November 12, 2025, the final seminar in the renowned event series on modern precast concrete facades attracted nearly 100 participants. They were able to learn about the entire range of possibilities for building with precast facades at nesseler ideenwerke in Weisweiler. Exciting, innovative lecture topics, an exclusive tour of the new nesseler group factory, and an accompanying trade exhibition by the sponsoring FDB members from the supplier industry – all of this can be summed up in one sentence: Sustainable facades are created where technical expertise, active sustainability, and open dialogue come together.
Wide range of topics related to modern facades
The specialist presentations, which were given by experts from among the FDB members, covered a wide range of topics related to modern facades – from sandwich facades made of carbon concrete to the specification of architectural concrete. The focus was on the sustainable and resource-saving design of concrete facades. The speakers underpinned their inspiring and, above all, practical presentations with their own experiences in their project examples. After the presentation of the new work, Sven Wittköpper and Hendrik Ros (both nesseler gruppe), Dr. Christian Gaigl (Laumer Bautechnik), Wolfgang Ehrenberg (Zech Group), Ralf Motschenbacher (Ingenieurgruppe Knörnschild & Kollegen), Stefan Heeß (Dyckerhoff), and Jens Gilbert Geffert (Hering Architectural Concrete) shared their expertise with the participating planners from engineering offices and construction companies.
The accompanying trade exhibition with a total of nine exhibitors offered a wide range of insights into current design and fastening options for facades; here, too, the expertise of the specialists was impressive.
The hosts, nesseler ideenwerke, the Fachvereinigung Deutscher Betonfertigteilbau e.V. (FDB) and the InformationsZentrum Beton (IZB), were delighted with the great response to the event, which concluded with a get-together where participants had the opportunity to engage in intensive professional exchange in a pleasant atmosphere.
