The first Precast Academy 2025 in India has opened
India’s construction sector is at a turning point, with mega-projects reshaping cities and an urgent need for speed, quality, and sustainability. To support this transformation, Elematic Oyj, a global leader in precast concrete technology, has launched Precast Academy 2025 in Hyderabad, bringing together India’s leading developers, contractors, and international experts under one platform.
The two-day event, held at the Westin Hyderabad Mindspace, was opened by Ambassador Kimmo Lähdevirta, Embassy of Embassy of Finland in New Delhi, who emphasized the importance of India’s market for Finnish companies: “We see India as huge opportunity for Finnish companies to participate in the growth and bring our expertise and innovations to the Indian market. Precast construction has its origins in Finland since the 1950s, with over 95% of all new buildings built in precast today.”
Elematic CEO Teppo Voutilainen emphasized India’s role as one of the world’s fastest-growing markets, saying: “India’s urban transformation is extraordinary. By adopting precast construction, India can accelerate project delivery, increase productivity, reduce costs, and cut carbon emissions — helping to build a smarter, more sustainable future. Not to mention that automation and technology are the answers to worsening labor shortages.”
Key Highlights from the Precast Academy
Mega-project showcases: MyHome Constructions (Hyderabad) and Suraksha Smart City (Mumbai) shared how precast is revolutionizing large-scale housing and commercial buildings.
Indian pioneers: PSP Projects Ltd. and Robomatic Precon demonstrated how domestic firms are scaling up precast to deliver faster and greener solutions.
Technology partnerships: Trimble, Peikko, ElectroMech, Aquarius, and Sitowise introduced innovations in digital workflows, sustainable design, and smart factory automation.
Hands-on learning: Participants also visited a Hyderabad-based precast factory and the MyHome project site to experience live applications of advanced precast technology. MyHome Grava project site is India’s largest commercial building built with precast technology. The entire project spans 45.53 acres, and approximately 14,300 tonnes of CO2 is saved compared to cast-in-situ construction.
With India targeting rapid urban housing, world-class infrastructure, and sustainable cities, precast technology is positioned as a game-changer—reducing construction time by up to 50% and CO₂ emissions by up to 30%.
Mr. Shridhar Rao, Sales Director, Elematic India, added: “The Academy is about collaboration. By sharing experiences between Indian builders and global experts, we can unlock new ways to deliver affordable, sustainable, and high-quality homes and infrastructure.”
