Progress Group Summit and Green Code Precast Days in Brixen
From September 30 to October 2, 2026, two conferences were held at the Progress Group headquarters in Brixen, South Tyrol, with a total of 500 participants from around the world. BFT International was on site at both events. The Progress Group Summit on Wednesday and Thursday morning focused primarily on automation and digitalization in the production of precast concrete elements and reinforcement. Technical presentations and guided tours provided insights into current developments in mechanical engineering and software. On Thursday afternoon and Friday, the Green Code Precast Days focused on the Green Code building system using precast concrete elements. The event was aimed at architects, planners, project developers, and property developers, among others.
Solutions for the Challenges Facing the Construction Industry
At the Progress Group Summit, experts from various countries exchanged views on the current state and future development of automated and digitalized precast concrete element and reinforcement production. The program centered on industrial applications and their practical implementation. Companies from various countries presented solutions in areas such as reinforcement automation, digital concrete technology, quality control, and sustainable production of precast concrete elements.
Digital concrete technology was also a key focus. Daniel Janecek, Managing Director of the Sipral Group, presented, among other things, SPI technology (Selective Paste Intrusion). This process enables the layer-by-layer production of complex concrete elements without traditional formwork. Using modular facades as an example, Janecek explained how the technology is used at Sipral and also addressed sustainability aspects related to material selection.
Focus on Projects and Technical Topics
With the Green Code Precast Days, the second focus of the event addressed the current challenges facing the construction industry and various approaches to sustainable and efficient construction using precast concrete elements. Among the projects presented was Torre Parko near Milan. The 21-story residential building was constructed using Green Code precast concrete elements from Progress AG.
In addition, the technical presentations covered topics ranging from structural design to circular productivity and other applications of precast concrete elements, all the way to the Green Code building system.
Practical Insights and Tours at the Corporate Headquarters
In addition to the technical presentations, both events offered several tours at the Progress Group headquarters. These included guided tours of the precast concrete plant and the rebar shop, the mechanical engineering production halls, the software division, and the 3D concrete printing area. The program was rounded out by visits to reference projects in South Tyrol.
For the BFT editorial team, one of the most interesting aspects of the Summit was the connection between the technical presentations and practical implementation. During a tour of the 3D concrete printing area, Andreas Gallmetzer of Progress Group demonstrated the printer and various exhibits, explaining the applications for which the process is suitable and where other manufacturing methods might be more appropriate. Stefan Niedermair of Progress Group then led a tour through the mechanical engineering area. The focus here was, among other things, on testing and plant technology for automated reinforcement production.
In addition to the technical program, the events provided opportunities for exchange with speakers, participants, and the Progress Group team. The three-day program combined technical presentations and practical insights with direct exchange within the international precast concrete industry.
