LIEBHERR MISCHTECHNIK

New generation of mixing plants and other highlights

At bauma 2022, Liebherr will offer visitors unique opportunities to experience the latest developments in construction machinery, cranes, material handling, mining and components at first hand from October 24th to 30th, 2022. Under the motto „On your site“, the group of companies will demonstrate that Liebherr is always and everywhere at its customers‘ side - whether directly on the construction site with high-quality machines or through individual consulting, worldwide services and fully comprehensive solution concepts.

The Liebherr booth offers space for more than 70 exhibits in the outdoor area covering more than 14,000 m² (booth 809-810 / 812-813). On display will be numerous innovations and further developments from the fields of construction machinery, cranes, material handling, mining and components. Liebherr concrete technology products will be on display at the main stand in the open-air area, and the topic of mixing technology for precast plants will also be covered in Hall C1 (booth 425).

Visitors will also have the opportunity to find out about training and entry-level opportunities within the Liebherr Group at the Career Point on the Liebherr booth in the outdoor area and in the ICM foyer (booth 105).

Liebherr presents new generation of mixing plants at bauma

Liebherr has been developing and selling mixing plants for concrete production for over 60 years. All this experience has now been incorporated into the new development of an innovative modular system. The company is presenting the new edition of the “BetonMix” to the public for the first time at bauma; the new plant will be available from 2023.

The new mixing plant series, which is marketed as Betomix and Mobilmix, respectively, is flexibly designed from prefabricated modules and replace several predecessor series at once. For customers, this means greater freedom in configuring the plants, shorter delivery times, faster assembly, and high parts availability. Improvements to the drives also reduce power consumption by up to 30 % and increase weighing accuracy.

Reaching the goal faster with modules: The new concept is based on a consistently implemented modular design. Individual modules can be planned, manufactured and combined with other modules independently of one another. They are almost completely wired and fully assembled at Liebherr. After testing, the modules are delivered to the construction site as complete transport units. Favorable transport: The dimensions of the modules are optimized and a maximum of three meters wide. This makes heavy transports superfluous for almost all plant variants. On the construction site, the modules can be assembled and commissioned quickly and efficiently thanks to the innovative folding concept and the plug-in connections.

One concept for many solutions

Everything fits together: Depending on customer requirements and application, different mixer systems can be installed in the same basic system. Liebherr uses its own twin-shaft or ring-pan mixers. Output rates of 100 to 210 m³ of compacted fresh concrete per hour are possible. A wide range of accessories can be integrated at no extra cost. Various storage options for the aggregates can be added, such as an elevated silo. Even the winter housing is standardized for all variants. Everything can be combined.

In order to save up to 30 % energy, frequency converters control the drives on the mixer and feeder elevator and optimize the entire mixing process. Hybrid mixing processes and shorter mixing times are easily possible, and power peaks are avoided. Wear is also noticeably reduced by the smooth start-up and stop of the drives. However, the frequency converters offer the greatest and most important potential when it comes to metering cement with an accuracy of +/- 0.5 %. For a typical recipe with 300 kg of cement, up to 7.5 kg of cement can be saved per cubic meter of concrete - an important argument for the new generation of mixing plants from an ecological and financial point of view.

Mobile version

The mobile version of the new generation of mixing plants is marketed under the name “Mobilmix”. Thanks to the practical modules, it can be moved very quickly to another construction site. Customers can choose how much the mixing plant is to be mobilized. The following designs for mobile use are possible: steel foundations, integrated technical container for cabling ex works, a mobile row silo on steel foundations including folding chamber walls, and mobile cement silos, also on steel foundations. Optionally, the plant can be equipped with a mobile enclosure. The mobile version will also be available from 2023.

An example of the modular design is the feeder elevator. It can simply be „attached“ to the respective mixing plant, regardless of the plant capacity required. Different height levels of the aggregate store are easier to realize with the vertical feeder elevator than with an inclined design. The vertical design requires up to 20 % less space for the installation area. The elevator is designed as a structurally independent element and is available for both stationary and mobile versions of the new mixing plants.

Comfortable working thanks to well thought-out space concept

All accessible areas of the mixing plant are generously designed, offer sufficient space and simplify maintenance and cleaning. In addition, enough space is provided for the storage of additional containers, e.g. for steel fiber dosing. A chain hoist can be installed on the scale platform, which can be used to lift Euro pallets with loads of up to 1,000 kg to the appropriate working level via the material hatches. The headroom in the entire interior area has also been specifically revised. All stairs and access ladders are one meter wide as standard. The completely redesigned „LiClean“ mixer high-pressure cleaning system, together with the „creep speed“ cleaning mode, ensures optimum cleaning results with a high level of safety. Furthermore, an automatic cleaning system for the truck mixer inlet hopper is available on request. Liebherr customers have already been able to convince themselves of the “LiClean” cleaning system, saving a lot of water and time.

The fully galvanized modules are absolutely durable and robust. The modules are pre-wired at the factory. So-called Q-gates are used to check and document the quality requirements of the respective assembly steps. The ready-to-plug-in modules can be connected immediately on site. Smooth commissioning is guaranteed with the tested modules.

Many product highlights at bauma 2022

The Mobile and Crawler Cranes product segment will present numerous digital products at bauma. These include numerous applications within the new “MyLiebherr” customer portal such as the Crane Finder, the Crane Planner 2.0, the digital mobile crane license, fleet management and a new telemetry application.

In the technology pavilion, visitors will also be able to see the latest products and services from Liebherr Mining‘s technology portfolio. In addition to a static machine exhibition, practical applications of current and future alternative drive concepts for earthmoving and material handling machines will be demonstrated to the trade public in live shows taking place several times a day. Liebherr will also be providing further insights and outlooks on future-oriented services and solutions for its earthmoving and material handling machines at the main exhibition stand. The new LTC 1050-3.1 compact crane from Liebherr‘s Ehingen plant is equipped with an electric motor in addition to the conventional drive, thus contributing to CO2 reduction.

In the field of digital assistance systems, the Components product segment will be presenting the “LiXplore” camera monitor and all-round vision systems as well as the IoT overall solutions for greater data security. New developments also include the mobile energy storage system, which will ensure locally emission-free operation of electrified or hybrid-powered construction sites with maximum power density, efficiency and quality in the future.

Tower cranes and further innovations

Liebherr is expanding its family of Fibre tower cranes to include extremely powerful machines - and for the first time beyond the EC-B series. The 258 HC-L 10/18 Fibre adjustable jib, the 1188 EC-H 40 Fibre high-top crane and the 520 EC-B 20 Fibre and 370 EC-B 16 Fibre flat-top cranes are new additions.

With the slogan „Gamechanger for tomorrows energy“ Liebherr presents a new crawler crane: the LR 12500-1.0 with a lifting capacity of 2,500 tons completes the portfolio below the LR 13000. Despite the enormous capacity of the new crawler crane and the size of the individual components, Liebherr says it has succeeded in creating a unique, practical concept for economical transport.

Last but not least, Liebherr will be bringing six innovations from the Unplugged series to bauma 2022 in the areas of pile driving, drilling and lifting.
