(57) A precast concrete element (10) for erecting sound barriers, comprising a concrete block (1), wherein the concrete block (1) comprises at least one lateral surface in the form of a cylinder segment that is configured either as a convex surface (3) or a concave surface (4), each having a circle of curvature, with the respective angles a between the tangent to the circle of curvature (11) of the cylinder segment surfaces (3, 4) and the side surface of the concrete block (1) is at least 5° but no more than 85°, and wherein the precast concrete element (10) is provided with a sound-absorbing facing shell (2) on at least one of the other, flat side surfaces facing outward when installed.
