Modular textile-reinforced concrete system for rail ­platform refurbishment

About 5,400 railway stations are currently in service in Germany. Following a range of activities in the last few years to comprehensively refurbish centrally located stations in major cities, Deutsche Bahn is now investing more significant amounts in revamping small and medium-sized stations and stops. Hering Bau, a precast producer based in Burbach, Germany, has developed yet another innovative, modular system made from textile-reinforced concrete that is perfectly suitable for refurbishing platform pavements or raising their level to make entry into trains more convenient for passengers.
