Legally, building materials are defined as “construction products”. This includes all materials which are used for the construction of building structures - i.e. also concrete products. Apart from design deficiencies and poor quality workmanship, construction products carry a risk potential as far as structural defects or damages are concerned. Therefore, there is the urgent question, who is liable for structural defects and damages which are the result of defective construction products.
