Lightweight construction with concrete – is that possible at all? In public perception, concrete is massive and heavy. In our yearbook “Beton Bauteile 2019,” which will be published in the coming days, two contributions demonstrate impressively what is already possible with concrete in lightweight construction now, and what will likely be possible in the near future.
The first contribution provides a survey of how concrete in lightweight construction can be used, from corrosion-free textile and carbon concrete, to micro-reinforced and self-compacting high-performance concrete, thermally-insulated infra-lightweight concrete to resource-conserving gradient concrete. The second contribution explains what the last-mentioned– gradient concrete – is all about. Formulation of a graded concrete component is precisely adjusted to the loads imposed on a structure. The yearbook “Beton Bauteile 2019,” moreover, excels with examples from current building practice. Among others: the V&A Museum in Dundee, UK, the cultural and congress center “Jordanki” in Torun, Poland, or the building AQ 7 “Lifestyle” in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The yearbook “Beton Bauteile” is a great gift, not least for your customers and business partners. We will be pleased to receive your orders, as of now at the Website www.profil-buchhandlung.de (please enter “Beton Bauteile 2019” in the search box).
In conclusion, the entire BFT team would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a good start into a successful new year in 2019.
