BetonTage 2022: Precast congress moves to new venue

After the first-ever virtual event held successfully in 2021, the BetonTage organizing team are faced with yet another challenge: The event will move to a new venue next year. From 22 to 24 February 2022, the complete program of this long-standing, leading convention of the concrete and precast industry will be held at the Maritim Hotel Congress Centrum in Ulm. Be it the presentations, the evening get-together, the exhibition of the supplier industry or the FAIRbinden industry gathering: From 2022, all these parts of the program will take place at a single venue. The 66th BetonTage will be a face-to-face event while also offering live video streaming of some panels.

From 1981 to 2020, the BetonTage were held at the Edwin-Scharff-Haus congress center in Neu-Ulm. Prior to this period, the premises of Ulm University of Applied Sciences had for many years been used for the event. Over the years, the congress reached its capacity limits because the event evolved from a seminar with regional reach to the reputable nationwide “Ulmer Betonfertigteiltage” (Ulm Precast Concrete Days) to then become the largest European congress of the industry. After the 65th edition of the BetonTage, which was held exclusively as a virtual event due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the congress will again be moving to a new venue.

The members of the organizing team were particularly impressed with the cutting-edge infrastructure and attractive environment that Congress Centrum Ulm offers, which is why they decided to hold the industry event there for the first time. This modern venue excels with its generously designed, well-lit rooms, state-of-the-art digital equipment also suitable for live streaming, about 500 parking lots and a top-class service in terms of catering and hotel facilities. At the same time, the new congress center will continue to foster the spirit of togetherness that has always been at the core of the event.

Congress Centrum at Maritim Hotel – the new venue

“After the first-ever virtual event held successfully in 2021, we are glad to have found a new home for the BetonTage congress. Exhibitors and participants are literally longing for meeting face-to-face again, and we want to cater to this need without neglecting the available digital options. We are firmly convinced that Congress Centrum Ulm and Hotel Maritim will enhance the quality of our industry-leading event even more. We will also return to the previous three-day program while integrating the entire value chain of innovative construction with concrete and precast elements. And we will be adding some new elements, such as the start-up area and our new open ‘Research Arena’. At the new venue, we will enjoy perfect conditions that also allow for implementing novel, virtual and hybrid event formats,” says Dr. Ulrich Lotz, Managing Director of FBF Betondienst GmbH.

To showcase the innovation potential of concrete and of the entire industry, to initiate the transfer from research to practice, and to advance the industry by offering continuing training: All these continue to be important objectives of the BetonTage congress. The technical program of its 66th edition will thus focus on the use of innovative concretes and precast components, new construction and production methods, and outstanding architectural and logistics solutions from the precast and concrete products industries. The organizers will join forces with the relevant associations of the construction industry to host the “3rd Future Day of the Construction Industry” on 23 February 2022 while a program catering specifically to the needs of a large number of architects and engineers attending the congress will again take place on 24 February 2022.

As before, the exhibition of the supplier, equipment and software industries will complement the congress and provide visitors with the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information on all relevant innovations and developments. Likewise, the successful collaboration with the BFT International Concrete Plant + Precast Technology magazine will continue, again in its capacity as media partner of the congress.

The new program will be available from October 2021 at www.betontage.com.
