Sela Concrete Products Ltd. was founded in 1986 in Ashkelon in Israel as a company specialized in the production of paving stones, curbstones, combined flooring tiles and other concrete products.
In 1996, the company expanded its area of activity to the field of underground concrete utilities, such as concrete pipes for drainage and sewage including sealing systems, control chambers for various types of drainage and sewage.
Sela Concrete Products Ltd. is a well-recognized and certified supplier to major clients in the field of infrastructure and development including the Israeli Defense Ministry, National Roads Company of Israel, Israeli Ministry of Construction and Housing, Israel Railways and Israel Airport Authority. Invest in new factory equipment
In 2017, Sela decided to invest in new factory equipment for paving, renewing completely the production facility located in Ashkelon. The investment project aims to meet growing demand of precast concrete and optimize logistics costs in Israeli‘s southern region.
Sela Concrete Products Ltd. management during the evaluation of the new investment, thanks to its decades of experience in the production of block & pavers, has analyzed several European suppliers, starting from Bauma 2013.
In 2017, after a long series of visits of MCT Italy representatives to Sela Concrete Products‘ facilities, MCT Italy technical department was able to study and propose a fully customized solution which impressed the customer for speed, redundancy and precision in the dosing of the components.
A dedicated team of engineers of MCT technical department were appointed to the project in order to develop in a true partnership with the customer the complete process of pre-installation, erection and commissioning.
One of the most appreciated aspects from the Israeli company is the complete pre-installation of the plant performed at the MCT Italy head quarter, where customer‘s technical team carried out the dry test and started to get comfortable with the new equipment.
Extremely accurate dosing system
The plant is composed of large aggregate storage in order to guarantee optimum production capacity and to avoid any kind of contamination among the different colored aggregates.
The batching plant, carefully engineered with Sela Concrete Products‘ owners in every step, has an aggregates storage of huge capacity:
400 cubic meters total aggregates storage for 8 compartments;
4 mobile hoppers, easy to manage thanks to plug & play fork-flit detachable system, give the customer the possibility to use special aggregates - coming in paper bags or big bags;
No. 1 aggregates scales is able to feed, in an extremely fast way, the two mixers;
No. 1 Planetary Mixer for base mix (gray concrete) 3000/2000 with compacted concrete of 2 m3;
No. 1 Planetary Mixer for face mix (colored concrete) 500/330 with compacted concrete of 0,33 m3.
The level of investment is fully justified by the high quality performances that the mixer guarantees in terms of repetitiveness of homogeneous color concrete for the face mix. This will definitely further strengthen Sela Concrete Products already excellent reputation in the Israeli market with new lines of products.
No. 2 feeding belts are installed on the bottom of the mixer in order to deliver in real time the right quantity of concrete inside face and base mix hoppers for gray and colored concrete.
The colored concrete feeding belt runs on a rotating device that allows the discharge into 3 different collecting hoppers for the face mix: high dosing accuracy and precision is strictly required in order to achieve the right amount of material on the top of the press.
The final integration of the batching plant automation along with the block machine supplier guarantees a continuous production with only one production supervisor. This also shows once again the high level of customization of MCT Italy concrete plant solutions and the skills of the engineering technical team which has worked in a perfect synergy with all the other partners involved in this ambitious project.
