59th Beton Tage Congress – More than just an industry gathering
A continuing training platform for the precast concrete industry and its market partners, a lobbying event for the building material concrete, an exhibition of the supplier sector and industry gathering – the Beton Tage congress combines several functions, fulfilling them excellently for many decades now.
About 2,000 participants from 20 nations managed to come to the 59th Beton Tage congress at the Edwin-Scharff-Haus congress center in Neu-Ulm, Germany. From 24 to 26 February 2015, the event with a long tradition presented a comprehensive technical program, giving information on current trends in the fields of concrete technology, manufacturing methods and standardization. The two hands-on workshops took up issues from everyday operations in the companies. In addition, there were several opportunities to exchange views, establish networks and cultivate the same.
Marketplace for manufacturers, planners and users
Therefore, Harald Sommer, President of the Baden-Württemberg Association of Concrete and Precast Plants (FBF), the promoter of the BetonTage congress, described the event as a “bracket” of the industry, in his opening speech. According to him, the BetonTage congress provided not only comprehensive continuing training but also an important communication platform for the industry and its market partners. Besides manufacturers of concrete and precast concrete elements, the congress once again attracted representatives from the building materials industry, associations, universities and vocational training centers. Members from the relevant target groups, such as the public sector and architects and engineers were neither missed among the participants. Even many representatives of foreign associations of the precast industry didn‘t miss the opportunity to pay a visit to the BetonTage congress.
“Presenting the innovation potential of the building material concrete, encouraging the transfer into practice and giving fresh impetus to manufacturers of concrete elements, these have always been the most important goals of our congress,” stated organizer, Dr. Ulrich Lotz, General Manager of FBF Betondienst GmbH, in his opening speech.
Initiator for the precast concrete industry
This year’s motto of the technical program was „Innovative Concretes“. They create new possibilities in terms of load-bearing capacity, durability and designing, show new fields of application and score in respect of sustainability.
The agenda of the product-specific panels in the afternoon was conceived in collaboration with the respective professional associations of the industry. As usual, it covered all relevant fields of precast concrete elements. Statements on economic and legal issues complemented the program.
Every year, the Beton Tage congress also helps to give planners and users a deeper insight into precast concrete elements. Thus, the third day of the congress, the day of the market partners, was characterized by a special program for the partners from architecture and structural engineering as well as the public sector. The penal “Concrete in Architecture” has meanwhile become an integral part of the third day of the congress. It is provided in cooperation of Beton Marketing Süd GmbH and DBZ Deutsche Bauzeitschrift, which is published by Bauverlag BV GmbH, as is the exclusive media partner of the Beton Tage congress, the trade magazine BFT International.
The next and already the 60th Beton Tage congress will take place from 23 to 25 February 2016.
